I would say It's a heaven on earth...
Must place to visit especially in rainy season,
receives heavy rainfalls during the monsoon.
It's, greenery everything is just awesome.
Konkan is one of the most enchantingly beautiful places in the world.
Nestled in the hills of the Sahyadri ranges in the state of Maharashtra.
Sindhudurg District has been declared as a 'Tourism District' on 30th April 1997.
The natural resources, coastal lines, waterfalls,
hot springs, temples, historical forts, caves, wildlife, hill ranges, scenery and amenable climate are very important resources of tourist attraction.
The place is endowed with lush green mountains, waterfalls and amazing fishy rivers. The region is gifted with mangoes, coconut, banana and pineapple trees among others.
Despite its lush and surreal landscapes and natural splendour, sawantwadi stayed off the tourist map for far too long.
The people of Kokan are very friendly, polite and they always make you fill welcome. The food served in cafes here is also great. We eat very delicious freshly prepared food and we loved it. The varieties on the menu were very wide and excellent. You could have wonderful Indian flavored seafood.
Searching for crabs...
This scene caught my eye, as it brought back childhood memories of myself and my siblings clambering over the rocks searching for crabs
Konkani food has its own unique piquant flavours. Good use is made of the local herbs and spices to make vegetarian and chicken or fish gravies. Rice, coconut and fish are the staples of the local diet. Solkadi, a spicy drink made from coconut milk, kokum, garlic and coriander leaves is very popular and helps to digest the spicy curries.
And monsoons, especially, add to the beauty. The lush greenery contained in every fold and contour of the mountains gives a feeling that someone has dropped a velvety verdant green carpet on it.
I wish to live in this kind of space.
